Author Design · Buenos Aires
There's something I hear often from those who dress with us for the first time: "I didn't know clothes could fit me like this".
They don't say it as a compliment. They say it with a mix of surprise and a bit of frustration, because most have spent years buying jackets that fit at the shoulders but hang loose at the waist, trousers that sit well at the hip but pinch at the thigh, or shirts where the collar simply doesn't follow.
I'm Carlos Molina, and I've been making author design in Buenos Aires for over 10 years. I've dressed people who lead companies, who are about to get married, and artists who take the stage in front of thousands. In every case, the difference a bespoke garment makes goes beyond aesthetics: it changes the way you move through the world.

The fashion industry works with averages. A size M is the result of measuring hundreds of people and calculating a midpoint that fits reasonably well on as many as possible.
The problem is that bodies are not averages.
Someone with broad shoulders and a defined waist doesn't exist in any commercial size chart. Someone with short legs and a long torso doesn't either. For years, the solution was to choose which part of the body to prioritise and settle for the rest.

We've left traditional rigidity behind to create tailoring designed for life today. Classic tailoring tends to be loaded with rules, heavy structures and elements that no longer speak to modern living. We chose to relax those features and focus on what truly matters: your body and your comfort.
Our line pursues beauty in the most absolute simplicity. We believe in quiet luxury: impeccable garments that speak through their quality and drape, taking the best of tradition — the cut, the pattern-making, the handcraft — and placing it at the service of a contemporary eye.

Having clothes made to measure isn't simply shopping: it's living an experience.
Stepping through the door of our atelier means entering a space designed to pause the rush of the city. We want you to feel you've entered a world where hyper-personalised attention is our golden rule.
Here there are no averages and no standard sizes. Our entire team is at your disposal to understand who you are, what you need and how you want to present yourself.

We craft the key pieces for a smart, modern wardrobe:

Bespoke tailoring doesn't make you look "more elegant" in the abstract. It makes you look more like yourself, at your best. The version that doesn't have to fight the clothes to make them fit.

We work with fabrics from Lanificio F.lli Cerruti, one of the most prestigious mills in the world, founded in 1881 in Biella, Italy — the same house that dressed Richard Gere, Jack Nicholson and Harrison Ford on screen.
At our atelier you can see and touch the complete catalogues, choose your fabric and design your garment around that specific cloth. Your order arrives from Italy in two weeks, and from there we begin crafting in our Buenos Aires workshop.
Frequently asked questions
How long does the process take?
Creating a garment takes between 3 and 5 weeks. For full suits or events with a fixed date, we recommend booking at least 6 weeks in advance.
Do I need to know exactly what style I want before I come in?
No. You can bring references, but in our first consultation — which takes as long as it needs to — we'll design the garment together, listening to what you're looking for.
How does the fabric selection work?
At the atelier we have the complete Cerruti 1881 (Italy) catalogues. You choose the fabric you like best, we order it directly from Biella and it arrives in two weeks to begin your garment. The entire process — from fabric selection to the final fitting — we do together.
Where is the atelier?
We're in the heart of Buenos Aires (Malabia 1116, CABA). To ensure our personalised service and intimate atmosphere, we work exclusively by appointment.
