Jacquard Jacket

The piece

The pattern is not printed: it is woven. Pink waves over a grey-veined ground, like marble, shifting with the light. Jacquard has body, so the jacket holds its shape on its own: high, defined shoulders with an eighties air, a mandarin collar that rises straight, and a short length that ends at the waist. Inside, champagne satin. It glides over the shirt, the jacket goes on and off effortlessly, and when the front falls open it shows a warm tone that sits well with the pink. We designed it to be worn open, over a white shirt and tailored trousers, or with a plain top when the piece should do the talking.

Materiality

• Exterior · Woven jacquard

  A fabric where the motif is neither printed nor embroidered: it is woven into the cloth itself, in relief, thread by thread. The pattern isn’t on the fabric, the pattern is the fabric. An old, demanding technique that gives depth and a play of light of its own.

• Forro · Satin

  A light, soft fabric with an exceptional sheen.

Composition: Exterior 100% poliéster, rosa con vetas grises · Forro Satén color champagne

Construction & details

• 100% polyester jacquard, pink with grey veining, the pattern woven into the cloth.
• Champagne satin lining.
• High mandarin collar, no lapel.
• Structured shoulders with shoulder pads.
• Edge-to-edge front, made to be worn open.
• Seam running down from the shoulder to shape the front.
• Cropped, waist length.
• Long, straight sleeves.
