Manifesto
I started sewing when I was seven. That boy still goes to work every day in his studio, and I go with him. From a very young age, with a microscope at home, I understood that form lives in the fold: in joints, in plants, in the skin itself. A flat surface that, when folded at just the right point, becomes something else. Those folds need to be dressed. That’s all I do. I take a flat surface and fold it until it embraces you. The shape that accompanies you on the subway, at work, at a party, as you become who you want to be. There are forms that don’t yet exist. It’s my responsibility to bring them to life and see them worn by a real person—by any body, leaving no one out. Each piece is unique, handcrafted in our own atelier. Whatever it’s worth, it’s worth it for the material, never for the craftsmanship.
