Green Embroidered Tulle Mini Dress

The piece

The embroidery covers the whole of the tulle: flowers opening in pearlescent sequins, stems and leaves traced in green thread, and clusters of bugle beads gathering as though the garden kept growing toward the hem. Among the mother-of-pearl there are points of red and pale blue that only appear up close and shift with the light. Deep green tulle carries all that work and, at the scalloped edge, turns sheer. The halter neckline crosses on the bias and leaves the back open. A short dress for a night where the detail is looked at closely.

  A very fine, light, almost weightless net, sheer to the eye. It lends volume and an ethereal air without adding weight, and hints at what it covers. The fabric of fantasy and movement.
