Blue and Orange Cotton Tweed Jacket

The piece

Two yarns that never blend: blue and orange cross stitch by stitch and, from a distance, build a violet that shifts with the light. Up close they come apart again. It is cotton tweed, the relief of the weave in plain view and light enough to wear when the heat sets in.

Materiality

  A tweed woven in cotton, made for warm weather. It has the irregular stitch and raised surface of tweed, with the slubs of the yarn in plain view, yet it is light and breathes: it can be worn in summer without adding heat. The weave combines black and white yarns that read from a distance as a gray with living texture.

Care

• Dry clean or hand wash cold, without wringing. Dry flat, in the shade. Press on low from the reverse, with a cloth.
