The piece

Two yarns that never blend: blue and orange cross stitch by stitch and, from a distance, build a violet that shifts with the light. Up close they come apart again. It is cotton tweed, the relief of the weave in plain view and light enough to wear when the heat sets in.

  A tweed woven in cotton rather than wool, made for warm weather. It keeps the irregular stitch and the raised surface of classic tweed, with the slubs of the yarn in plain view, yet it is light and breathes: it can be worn in summer without adding heat. The weave combines black and white yarns that read from a distance as a grey with living texture.

Care

• Dry clean or hand wash cold, without wringing. Dry flat, in the shade. Press on low from the reverse, with a cloth.
